HANNAH FIDELL wrote, produced and directed the feature film A Teacher, which premiered at Sundance 2013 to critical acclaim. Her follow up, 6 Years, produced by the Duplass Brothers, was the highest sale out of SXSW 2015 and was released by Netflix that same year. Fidell was named one of the 25 new faces of indie film in Filmmaker magazine in 2012, received the SXSW Chicken & Egg female directing award for A Teacher in 2013, and became a fellow in the inaugural Fox Studios Diversity Directing initiative. Most recently, she was inducted into the director’s branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences; making her, at age 31, one of the youngest members of the organization.
